Bruss, Edna (Marriage - 28 July 1940)

Miss Edna Bruss and Elmer A. Georgas, Neillsville, were united in marriage at St. Paul’s Lutheran church, Stevens Point, Wis., at 10:30 a.m. July 28, 1940, Rev. W. F. Ludwig of that city performing the rites. The double-ring ceremony took place in the presence of the twelve guests.

The decorations consisted of a lovely arrangement of lighted tapers and baskets of snapdragon. Miss Irene Ludwig sang the Twenty-three Psalm. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Sersch, Shawano, brother-in-law and sister of the groom, attended the couple.

The bride wore a blue Bamberg-sheer redingote, her attendant wearing blue figured crepe. Both ladies wore shoulder corsages. The groom wore a grey suit, while Mr. Sersch wore navy blue.

A twelve- o’clock dinner was served to the wedding party and their guests included Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Sersch, Shawano; Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Swarthout and Isabelle Georgas, Spencer, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bruss and Miss Bertha Georgas, Neillsville, Wis.

The bride was graduated from the Neillsville high school. She clerked for a time in the C. C. Wasserburger store, and for the past several years has been employed by the Clark County Agency. She is a young woman of refined tastes and possesses most amiable traits of character. In her work she has proven herself efficient and reliable. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bruss of Neillsville, Wis.

Mr. Georgas is the son of Mrs. B. C. Swarthout of Spence, Wis. He graduated from the Spencer High School and also attended the University of Minnesota. He has been employed for the past several years, as a mortician, at Stevens Point and Neillsville, Wis. He is a young man of good habits, energetic, and skillful in his profession.

After a week’s wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin, Minnesota and Canada, they will be at home August 4th, in an apartment at over the Neillsville bank.
